Slack
Connect your Slack workspace to Inbox Agent and get suggested responses whenever you're mentioned — whether in an internal team channel or an external customer-facing channel.
What Inbox Agent does with Slack
When someone mentions you in a Slack channel, Inbox Agent reads the conversation, pulls in relevant context from your connected tools, and generates a suggested reply. The suggestion appears as an ephemeral message — visible only to you, not to the rest of the channel.
This works across any channel where you're mentioned: internal team discussions, shared channels with customers, support channels, or project-specific rooms. You decide what happens next — edit the draft, use it as-is, or ignore it entirely. Nothing is sent without your explicit action.
Today, suggested responses are shown as ephemeral messages that only you can see. The ability for Inbox Agent to post replies on your behalf (as you) is a planned feature. We'll update this page when it's available.
What to expect after connecting
Once your Slack account is connected:
- Inbox Agent monitors channels for mentions of you.
- When you're mentioned, it generates a suggested reply in the same thread, visible only to you.
- Suggestions include relevant context from any tools you've connected — for example, a related Linear issue or a Notion document.
- You can dismiss the suggestion, copy the text, or use it to inform your own reply.
Setup
- Open Inbox Agent in the Runbear app.
- Navigate to Channels and select Slack.
- Click Connect and authorize Runbear to access your Slack account.
- Once connected, Inbox Agent will begin monitoring your mentions immediately.
Connect tools like Notion or Linear so Inbox Agent has internal context to draw on when drafting responses. See Connect tools for details.
