Email (Gmail)
Connect your Gmail account to Inbox Agent and arrive at your inbox already prepared — with draft replies ready, relevant context surfaced, and ticket creation suggestions when follow-up is needed.
What Inbox Agent does with your email
When a new email arrives, Inbox Agent reads the message and does three things:
- Drafts a suggested reply — a full response you can review, edit, and send.
- Surfaces relevant internal context — related documents, previous conversations, or relevant data from connected tools.
- Proposes Linear ticket creation — when the email describes a request or issue that warrants tracking, Inbox Agent can suggest creating a ticket.
Inbox Agent never sends emails automatically. Every draft it creates is shown to you first. You review it, make any edits, and send it yourself.
What to expect after connecting
Once Gmail is connected:
- Inbox Agent monitors your incoming emails in the background.
- For each new email, it prepares a draft reply and surfaces relevant context from connected tools.
- Where appropriate, it suggests creating a Linear ticket — you confirm before anything is created.
- You can edit the draft freely before sending from your Gmail account as usual.
Setup
- Open Inbox Agent in the Runbear app.
- Navigate to Channels and select Email.
- Click Connect with Google and complete the OAuth authorization flow.
- Grant Runbear the requested Gmail permissions — Runbear reads your incoming messages to generate drafts. It does not send anything without your action.
- Once connected, Inbox Agent will begin monitoring your inbox immediately.
Runbear does not store the content of your emails. Messages are read in order to generate suggestions and are not retained. See the FAQ for more detail.
When Linear is connected as a tool, Inbox Agent can reference open issues when drafting replies and propose creating new tickets for actionable requests. See Connect tools for details.
