Confluence

Sync spaces and pages from Atlassian Confluence so your agent can answer questions grounded in your organization's knowledge base.

How it works#

Runbear connects to Confluence via OAuth and indexes the pages you select. The agent searches this content at query time to provide accurate answers. Runbear periodically checks for changes — including new pages, updated content, and deletions — and updates the index automatically.

Prerequisites#

• An Atlassian account with access to your Confluence workspace
• If you don't have one yet, create an Atlassian account

Setup#

1. Open your agent in the Runbear dashboard and go to the Knowledge tab.
2. Select Confluence.

3. Click Connect Confluence — you'll be redirected to an Atlassian authorization page.

4. Review the permissions and click Accept to authorize Runbear.
5. After authorization, you'll be redirected back to Runbear. Use the page picker to select which spaces and pages to sync.
6. Click Save. Runbear begins the initial sync.

What gets synced#

• Pages and sub-pages you select in the picker
• Content updates, new pages, and deletions are detected and re-synced automatically

Connected through another member's account#

A Confluence knowledge base is connected through the Confluence account of the member who set it up. If that person leaves or their access changes, another member who can edit the agent can take it over: open the knowledge source and connect your own Confluence account. As the notice in the source says, connecting yours "moves it to your account and keeps everything that is already synced", so you don't need to delete the knowledge base and rebuild it.

This applies to Confluence connected with OAuth. A Confluence knowledge base connected with an API token can't be taken over: only the member who connected it can change it, and for everyone else its pill is disabled.
