Connect your Slack workspace to Inbox Agent and get suggested responses whenever you're mentioned — whether in an internal team channel or an external customer-facing channel.

## What Inbox Agent does with Slack

When someone mentions you in a Slack channel, Inbox Agent reads the conversation, pulls in relevant context from your connected tools, and generates a suggested reply. The suggestion appears as an **ephemeral message** — visible only to you, not to the rest of the channel.

This works across any channel where you're mentioned: internal team discussions, shared channels with customers, support channels, or project-specific rooms. You decide what happens next — edit the draft, use it as-is, or ignore it entirely. Nothing is sent without your explicit action.

> **How a sent reply appears**
>
> Nothing is posted until you act on a suggestion. When you send one, Runbear
> posts it with your own Slack user token, so the message is yours.
>
> If that token is unavailable — you have not authorized Slack yourself, or the
> workspace installation belongs to someone else — Runbear falls back to the bot
> token. The reply still carries your display name and avatar, but it is a bot
> message and Slack shows it with an app badge and a "sent via Runbear" line.

## What to expect after connecting

Once your Slack account is connected:

- Inbox Agent monitors channels for mentions of you.
- When you're mentioned, it generates a suggested reply in the same thread, visible only to you.
- Suggestions include relevant context from any tools you've connected — for example, a related Linear issue or a Notion document.
- You can dismiss the suggestion, edit it, or send it. Sending posts the reply
  to the thread as you.
