# Microsoft Teams

> Deploy an agent to Microsoft Teams, optionally under your own branding.

Microsoft Teams covers the same internal use as Slack for organizations standardized on Microsoft 365. It also supports a branded bot, so the agent can appear under your own name and icon rather than Runbear's.

## How it works

## Setup

1. In the Runbear dashboard, open your agent and go to the **Chatbots** tab.
2. Click the **Microsoft Teams** tile and choose **Use @Runbear** (**Use @Runbear Bot**). If the Runbear app isn't in your Teams organization yet, click **Install @Runbear in Teams**, or install it directly from [Microsoft AppSource](https://teams.microsoft.com/l/app/99783ae9-6345-4245-aa1d-fd7d78749f11). To use a branded bot instead, see [Branded bot](#branded-bot).
3. In MS Teams, click **Add to a Team** and choose the team or group chat where you want the bot.
4. The Runbear bot will post a card with a **Complete Setup** button. Click it to go to the Runbear dashboard.
5. Enter your Teams name and click **Add**.
6. That's it — the agent is now active in your selected team or group chat.

## Branded bot

By default, the bot appears as "Runbear" in Teams. If you want a custom name, icon,
and description, build a **branded bot** that works identically but looks like your
own app. Start from the **Microsoft Teams** tile's **Create** option named after
your agent (**Create Custom Bot**), or from **Settings → Integrations → Microsoft
Teams → Create Bot**. The three-step wizard, installing the bot, and deleting it
are described in [Integrations](/administration/integrations.md#building-a-branded-bot).

## After setup

Each team or chat you deploy to is a connection on the agent's **Chatbots** tab,
with its own triggers and preferences. See [Chatbot settings](/channels/chatbot-settings.md).

## Troubleshooting

### Can't find my team or group chat when connecting

If your team or group chat doesn't appear during setup, the Runbear app likely isn't installed there yet. Click **+ Add conversation** in the dropdown and install the app in your desired team or group chat. Refresh the connection page afterward.

### App installed, but no "Complete Setup" message

In Teams, you can install the same bot into a team or group chat more than once. If you previously installed the bot, you may not receive another "Complete Setup" message. In that case, skip the setup step and proceed directly to connecting your agent.
