# Discord

Discord suits communities rather than internal teams: a support server, a user community, or a public channel where members mention the bot to get an answer.

## Setup

1. In the Runbear dashboard, open your agent and go to the **Chatbots** tab.
2. Click the **Discord** tile.
3. Authorize the Runbear bot to join your Discord server.
4. Select the server and channels where the bot should be active.
5. Complete the setup in the Runbear dashboard.

Once connected, mention the bot by name in any enabled channel to start a
conversation. To have it keep answering in a thread without another mention, turn
on **Continue in threads (every reply)** on the connection's **Trigger** tab; see
[Chatbot settings](/channels/chatbot-settings.md#discord-triggers).

## Disconnecting

Delete the Discord connection from the **Chatbots** tab; see
[Deleting a connection](/channels/chatbot-settings.md#deleting-a-connection). The Discord
server itself can't be disconnected from **Settings → Integrations**; to remove the
bot from the server entirely, kick it from your Discord server settings.
